A shrill call piercing,
Through dew air damping,
A chestnut cap bobbing,
Among the thorny bush siding,
Perched on a high seating,
Known for its barbed wire feeding,
Fly miles for a European migration,
But home is crown of Africa extension,
Stocky and bigheaded wood shrike,
Wearing a mask, always ready to strike.
