Oh! meadow, stepped, lush and green,

What secrets do you behold within?

An eagle perched high on the tree top,

Waiting for a rabbit to hop,

A very vocal pigeon,

Forever calling out to its kith and kin,

A pair of ducks out for a stroll,

Around a lake and into the bushes small,

A lonely rooster far from the barn,

Lost, scared and crowing out of turn,

 

A talkative enthusiastic parakeet,

Gnawing at corn while selecting a novel to read,

A peacock shy and introvert,

Counting steps of the hilly slope with a silly trot.
