A flower’s nature is to please,

Puts irrational confusion, at ease,

A break in monocolour monopoly,

Petals with colourful streaks heavenly,

A virus infestation,

For lilies and tulips, a variation,

An extra petal emerges,

Graceful tall leaves, distorts,

Bulbs in earth weakens,

Stunted growth deepens,

Beauty’s ultimate sacrifice,

The multicoloured unique flower, dies,

Like a man with a helpful hand,

Weathers all forces for community,

Charters a new course that is easy for society,

Ultimately returning to soil and sand.
